Welcome to the second installment of our coast to coast style collaboration! We are girls in four very different parts of the country trying out the same trend. Just because New Year’s Eve has passed doesn’t mean you can’t spice up your wardrobe with some sparkle. Our looks range from casual to party and everything in between. Hopefully this will inspire you to incorporate that extra flash of glam into your wardrobe.
Maurice’s sequin top (similar here and here) / Target pants / Nine West peep toe heels / Nordstrom glitter clutch / Kohl’s earrings (similar) / Macy’s bracelet / Essie nail polish in “Smokin Hot” / Revlon lipstick in “Berry Rich”
I sifted through my closet to try to find something that was sparkly for this edition of “Coast to Coast”, but I didn’t have much luck. I had a nice frilly top with sequins, but it was black and the sequins were hard to see. So while I was doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, I picked up this top. Black never goes out of style and the silver sparkles and embellishments stand out against the dark contrast. Then I remembered I still had the silver glitter clutch from my prom (back in 2006) and that it would be perfect with this outfit. Add a dark nail polish and a berry lip and you’re good to go!
I think a lot of women, including fashion bloggers, tend to go overboard on the sparkle/glitter, so I wanted to make sure I wore just the right amount. I’d wear this outfit out for drinks with friends, a dinner with my boyfriend, or a night out. What are your rules when it comes to wearing sparkles?
