One of the hair trends that I’d love to try someday is colorful dip-dyed ends. I toyed around with dip-dye in the fall of 2011 when I ombre’d my own hair. The end result was blonde ends which gradually got darker as you went up to my light brown roots. I really liked the results (sorry, I don’t have any good photos!), but the dyeing ultimately ruined the ends of my hair and I had to chop the dyed part off.
I love this style because it’s just a hint of color. Sure it’s a bold and bright color, but it’s FUN! I realize that not everyone can pull off this look, but those who can should really try it. If you aren’t in a field with a strict dress code/image policy, you should start off using temporary dye. There are a lot of options, including hair chalk and color creams that wash out after one use. If you end up really liking the look, go to your colorist and take the plunge. Make sure you ask for a gradual gradient of color, otherwise there will be a fine line where your original hair color meets the bright color, and that looks tacky.

Is this a trend you would ever try (if your job allowed it)?
