I spend a good amount of my commute each morning and afternoon on Twitter. I like to read the stories of the day- including news and which celebrity is pregnant. Besides friends, bloggers and industry experts, I also like to follow accounts that are just funny. I find myself retweeting and favoriting the same people over and over again, which clearly shows how funny they are to me. Basically these women are the perfect explanation of how to be funny on Twitter.
And while there are plenty of funny men on Twitter (I’m looking at you, Billy Eichner and Kevin Farzard), I thought I would dedicate an entire post to the funny women I follow on Twitter- famous and not famous. Show them some love!
Chrissy Teigen (@chrissyteigen)
Whoever said supermodels don’t have brains/smarts/a personality clearly wasn’t talking about Chrissy. Not only is she the Sports Illustrated cover model and wife of John Legend, but she is hilariously honest. She knows how to laugh at herself and make fun of others without coming off as bitchy. Currently she has over 500K followers, and I can assure that most of them are for her quick wit and playful banter with Taco Bell.
Andrea Lavinthal (@andilavs)
Not only does Andrea have hair to die for, but she has a self-deprecating sense of humor as well. I follow her partly for the fact that she’s a beauty editor and then partly for the fact that her tweets make me giggle out loud on the train. I’d like to think we could meet one day and share hair tips and make fun of everyone around us.
Alex Martin (@THEAlexMartin)
I met Alex when we both were writing a column for a magazine and since then I’ve enjoyed reading her hilarious tweets. Whether she’s complaining about the idiots on reality TV shows or using her witty sarcasm to write about her life in general, she’s very entertaining.
Dani Shapiro (@dailydaniblog)
I know Dani from blogging- she runs a fun fashion blog called The Daily Dani. She brings humor to each of her tweets- my favorites being her musings on terrible TV shows and her own love life. Her and I need to meet in real life because I think having drinks together would be a ton of fun. And my cheeks would hurt from laughing.
