Ten years ago, there weren’t many eco-friendly or natural makeup brands out there to choose from. I also was still in high school, so I wasn’t that good at choosing or applying makeup. But now that I’m older and ~wiser~, I try to be mindful about what I put on my face and body. While I’ll admit I don’t commit to only using 100% natural makeup brands, I do try to incorporate as many as I can into my routine. Here are a few of the eco friendly makeup brands I’ve tried and loved.
Ilia Beauty takes an ethical-sustainable approach to their beauty products, including only certified organic bio-active botanicals that nourish and rejuvenate the skin. In fact, each product is filled with up to 85% bioactive organic ingredients. In comparison to similar brands, Ilia’s packaging is modern and sleek (not the typical “I’m an organic brand so look at my bamboo container”), which I think is a major selling point for them.

I discovered ACURE when I received a bottle of their Certified Organic Argan Oil. I went through the bottle in under a month and immediately ordered a larger size. Each of theirs products is free from animal testing, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, harmful preservatives and artificial colors. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so why wouldn’t you try them out?

All of Maran’s products feature 100% Pure Argan Oil as their signature ingredient. Additionally, they partner with earth-loving, women-empowering organizations and use eco-friendly packaging.
