I’m a sucker for a fun, cheeky accessory. The amount of lemon– or cat-themed items that I receive as gifts or buy for myself is a little alarming. Every summer, there seems to be a new “item” that’s trendy (fellow millennials, remember when that “item” was mustaches?)

While I’ll always appreciate a nice fruit necklace or seashell-shaped bag, it seems that the trends are getting more specific each year. For 2025 summer accessory trends, it seems to be all about food or the sea (and in some cases, seafood!) Whether you’re a sucker for anything lobster print or prefer a pair of simple strawberry stud earrings, here are some of my picks.

Lobster Accessories

Inspired by coastal nostalgia and the broader “fisherman aesthetic,” playful lobster motifs have clawed their way (sorry for the pun) into everything from beaded purses and canvas totes to statement jewelry. If you’re on T.J. Maxx/Marshalls TikTok, you probably say the viral lobster beaded shoulder bag that everyone was clamoring over.

Strawberry Accessories

I had a cherry phase in my youth and then now am fully committed to the lemon as part of my “brand”, but strawberries would come in a close 3rd or 4th. Fruit-inspired accents are riding the wave of the broader “fruit fashion” trend, but strawberries seem to be leading the pack thanks to their bold color and cheerful charm this summer.

Fish Accessories

From sculptural fish‑shaped bags to delicate fish‑charm necklaces, this trend captures a playful seaside aesthetic. I almost made this about the sardine trend, but found more fun options when I went for the more generic “fish”.

Crab Accessories

Crabs are another quirky and coastal-inspired motif in women’s accessories that are everywhere this summer. The trend blends whimsy with a nod to maritime tradition, making it perfect for vacation wardrobes and trips to the beach. I bought Stella some crab hairclips that I can’t wait to force her to wear on our Jersey Shore vacation this year.

Olive Accessories

This summer, olives are having a moment in women’s accessories, bringing a touch of Mediterranean charm to the season. Often paired with gold hardware or rustic textures, olive-themed pieces feel both artisanal and playful. I have this tank top from Target that I can’t wait to wear while sipping on a dirty martini this summer.

Seashell Accessories

I’d argue that shell-inspired accessories are always on trend during the summer months, but here we are! These pieces give coastal vibes and natural beauty. From polished cowrie shell earrings to mosaic inlays on handbags, designers are using shells to craft pieces that feel both organic and elevated. Rather than the boho styles of past seasons, this year’s shell trend leans more minimalist and intentional.
